Black and white photography is like radio, an older medium of communication but much deeper and honest in nature. Black and white allows the viewer to see the essence of a photo, the message it hopes to convey. Color photography, as wonderful and beautiful as it is, can sometimes distract with its array of colors.
If I as a photographer want a picture to be in color, it depends on its environment and surroundings. Whether it is a garden, an amusement park, a children’s birthday party and so on, it must be in color. But if you are hoping to highlight the connection between a mother and child, someone in meditation on the beach, portraits and so on, black and white photography will take the viewer deeper into a photo.
